Mr. Wright I fail to see the Muckraking or even the inaccuracy of anything in the South End’s article. So let’s look at these facts like good journalists shall we?

The inaccuracies you point out:
1) Social Security will no longer exist if something isn't done (the warning comes from both sides of the aisle as well as independents). The very first line of the story indicates some people think there is a problem. Not all of any one group agrees on the nature of the problem like you seem to imply. I think we can both agree that out of conservatives, independents, and liberals, more conservatives see a huge problem with social security that requires immediate change, as opposed to any other group. In fact many Republicans are now backing away from Bush’s plan.
2) The stock market is risky. You agree with the author here. “Life is risky?” Our parents and grandparents didn’t have to worry about whether market fluctuations were going to cost them their retirement, why should we expect

less for us and our children? You may want to do some research about mutual funds you sight as being “safe”. That is most definitely an error in fact. Mutual funds are nothing more then a group of many stocks. You can have 1 stock that’s doing poorly or 5000 stocks that on average are bombing for one reason or another. They aren’t “safe” investments by any means.
3) The third “fact” you question is whether or not it’s the greatest achievement of the Democratic Party. This isn’t a fact it’s an opinion. The author can’t be wrong. The piece is labeled opinion right in the headline.

I think it’s funny you didn’t find any inaccuracies in the part where the author writes about the 2 trillion dollars Bush who has in the past pushed himself as fiscally conservative proposes borrowing to pay for the plan.

So I ask you one more time, what facts were not straight?

Glad to see you’re reading.

Jeffrey

This is to # 2). What most people fail to realize or talk about, is that according to the plan Bush wants to get passed, the STOCK MARKET worry is bogus. The option to put a PORTION of your funds into the market is OPTIONAL. So your entire savings would not go into some "risky" investment. Also, the portion that COULD go in, would be completely up to each individual. Yes some will "win" and some will "lose" but that is life isn't it? When we strive for "more" money we always are taking a risk.

Okay, lets look at this again shall we. Firstly, yes its an opinion piece. The opinion, however, is not that, its an attempt to scare the reader into thinking Bush is trying to rob us. You take my first point way out of context. I stated that both sides of the aisle have been saying social security is in trouble. I could care less who says it more. The point is, the author didn't say both sides, he just said conservatives, showing he needs a history lesson.

2) Mutual funds are overall more safe to invest in than just stocks. Mutual funds provide a more balanced and generally safer way to invest. However, it should be pointed out that the proposed Bush plan would limit what type of stocks one could invest in, for instance, more conservative stocks as opposed to volatile stocks.

3) I was incorrect as labelling that a fact. It obviously is not a fact and a downright poor opinion.

I didn't write about the inaccuracies of the numbers because I don't know what source he's using.

I didn't write about the inaccuracies of the numbers because I don't know what source he's using. Where did he get the numbers from? God only knows. The numbers I've seen, which are preliminary because its a proposed plan, is much lower. And IF YOU READ the linked article from CNN I included you too would learn that the numbers are completely off.

And the facts he didn't have straight were all the ones you failed to mention in your comment and those you did.

It is the nature of closet racist such as the staff of the wayne review to always stretch lies, and bend truths. However what they need to understand is that I respect them because unlike many people of all races they realize (or maybe not) that there is a war in America for who will be the dominant leaders of the future. As of now we know who it is, but we are doing everything in our power to ensure it does not remain that way.
"War & Politics are the same. They are an extension of one another.
War is politics with bloodshed, and politics is war without bloodshed".
-Chairman Mao
we are prepared for both. NO joke!

I'm going to ask "Mr. White" to point out where in our paper that we've ever been racist. Certainly, privatizing a portion of social security is not racist.
