Damn straight.

Gravatar This may stir the pot, but it needs to be said: there should be no attempts to pass legislation related to price-gouging, specifically when it comes to gasoline.

A-freakin-men!

People need to learn the lesson: Petroleum is scarce, and there will never...ever...be any more. We may figure our better ways to suck if from the ground. We may open up ANWR to look for more, but when a billion Chinese are using just half the energy per capita that each American uses, all the reserves in the world won't help us or anybody else (for that matter).

Gouging? Bwahahahaha. When 15% of US refining capacity is knocked off line, and gas is at $60.00 + per barrel, guess what campers...prices at the pump go up. Duh!

I took no end of delight when Congress decided to ask the energy industry to do something more to stem price increases. But just in case you thinking I'd gone soft, my blog post on the topic basically questioned Republican's grasp of capitalism.

Gravatar Holy crap...Kvatch and I agree on something! Maybe I should reconsider!

I definitely question Republican grasps of capitalism. Actually, I think they probably understand it just fine, but the politician in them overrides their common sense mechanism. Either way, it's shameful.

Gravatar "However, nothing good happens when government monkeys with the economic machinery that function just fine with basic supply and demand..."

Ain't that the truth...

Always lookin to "fix" something that ain't broken, and then breaking it with their tampering.
