No. I'm not a liberal, so I only work hard, and pay taxes. Oh, I also vote! (For those of you on the far left, I meant every word exactly as written.)
Hmmm... this is a tough issue. As a legal immigrant, I think people should do it the right way. At the same time, I feel for people who just want to work hard, make money and raise their families in peace (or return home with that money), but have no legal recourse to do so.
We prefer to allow immigrant professionals in on the H-1 visa, for obvious reasons (for reasons why this is a good idea, see Europe/riots/unemployment/welfare burden/crime statistics). Unprofessional laborers don't stand a chance of winning the green card lottery. Still, they know there is plenty of work here and arrive illegally to fill that demand.
Pretending that we don't have illegal immigrants or don't need cheap labor is ridiculous. And that has been our policy til now. We need some kind of a quick work visa program for "unskilled" laborers - or something that tracks people arriving in the US. More controversially - giving some kind of legal status to those that are already here (and some have been here for 30+ years!) may be logistically necessary to make such a tracking program work.
Difficult issue, but really important.

Ten bucks sez the black dude on the left in the photo is not an illegal alien, he was just there for the asswhoopin' party. Probably didn't even know what the riot was about. But hey, who doesn't like a good riot!
That's the second favorite thing for Californians to do, first being watching car chases on TV.
I was there & in the middle of the brawl,& you're correct,the blacks weren't illegal aliens,they were "members" of some college communist party group. (read, gangbangers hired to cause trouble. the white college leftists are too scared to do anything on their own)Both men that were attacked are Vietnam vets. Nice huh?
