Gravatar I'm beginning to believe the only way that "peaceful" Muslims are going to get the word that we will no longer tolerate (I know it's politically incorrect to be intolerant) radical Islam is to make Mecca and Medina the next Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Muslims have been on a killing spree for about fifteen hundred years now, and it's time it was stopped. Apparently we need to fight fire with real fire.

Gravatar Where is the KGB when they're really needed???

Now we'll find out if Putin is a Clinton or a Bush, will he ignore it or have the balls to do something.

OS -- you are so right. You can't negotiate with people that value nothing. It may not be PC (but then I abhor PC-ness), but the only way to get their attention is to point a missile at Mecca.

Now we'll find out if Putin is a Clinton or a Bush, will he ignore it or have the balls to do something.

Putin is in bed with the Islamofascists, my guess is he'll be a Clinton.

Gravatar To, the Russians do not have the same value of life that we do. They aren't as bad as the Islamofascists, but to them some loss of life is acceptable. Example, the old USSR (or CCCP whichever you prefer) thought it perfectly acceptable to lose 15 or 20 soldiers' lives during a maneuver exercise. (We would be relieving commanders in such a situation.) All that said to substantiate KG's and Lee's assessment that Putin probably won't do a thing. I'd like to be pleasantly surprised, but will not hold my breath. (Kinda like expecting our liberal brethren to join the fight against radical Islam - nothing to hold your breath over.)

Gravatar I'm appalled that these beheadings have become such a ho-hum event for the press that they don't even make it to the front page any more.

But scare a terrorist prisoner with a dog, watch out! It's time for action by our "noble" journalists and politicians.

Gravatar When will the world realize, that unless you prescribe to these islamofacist's strict and limited brand of Islam, you must die. They do not respect other cultures and peoples right to choose what faith to believe or to believe at all, like most of the rest of the world does. These terrorists don't share our values and in fact look at our values as one of the main reasons to hate us.

Gravatar Oh they believe that you can choose whatever religion you want, however you must die if it is not Islam

Gravatar These terrorists don't share our values and in fact look at our values as one of the main reasons to hate us.

The irony is that the very people (Liberals, Hollyweird, etc.) who continually defend the actions of the terrorists (while blaming Bush and America for everything) are the same people who are largely responsible for the moral decline in our society that the terrorists despise us for.

Gravatar An even greater irony is that the darlings of the left would be the first to be executed. Imagine a gay pride parade in Saudi Arabia, yet they see conservatives as no different than the Taliban.

Gravatar Imagine a gay pride parade in Saudi Arabia

Now THAT's a visual that won't be leaving my head anytime soon.....

Gravatar I think OS and KG are right on. It's time for people to come out and say publicly if you're with us in this GLOBAL war on terrorism or you're against us. If muslims are not going to speak out against their radical brethren then we must believe they condone those actions and as such should be considered an enemy also!
OS I think you're right and that Saudi Arabia should have 2 big shiny spots of glass in the desert if they don't help erase these terrorists.
It's painfully obvious to the world (especially Canada and Russia who never even sent troops to fight) that these terrorists hate ALL non-Islamo-fascists muslims in the world!
Good post Jon.

Gravatar From the Counterterrorism Blog:

If confirmed, the murder of the four Russian diplomats taken hostage on June 3- three by beheading and the last one by shooting- by members of an Al Qaeda affiliate, may have important implications.

In fact, last week Russia had officially asked for the help of Palestinian terror group Hamas in this matter. The President of the Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee sent a letter to Hamas' political leader Khaled Mashal. Obviously this has not worked out.

Even though Russia has excellent relations with terror sponsor states in the region such as Syria and Iran, the Chechen isuue is still very much alive in the minds of Islamic terror groups who wish to help their Muslim brothers.
It will be interesting to see how Russia reacts to these murders. Indeed Russia has been known for dealing with sometimes excessive force to terrorists. And not only with Chechen rebels.

For example, in September 1985 when four Russian diplomats were kidnapped in Beirut by Hezbollah, the then USSR responded in kind by first abducting a family member of an Hezbollah leader and then killing him very very gruesomely. The hostages were given back right away and Russia was never targeted in Lebanon again.

Will Russia do the same today?
