Gravatar I would go sign the petition, but I don't think Florida cares what an Alabamian thinks (not much) about their senator.

Martinez and SC's Grahmnesty are two of a kind. SC needs to get rid of Grahamnesty, too.

The first opportunity I get, I'm headed to the county registra to reregister from 'Republican' to 'Independent.' When the GOP comes to their senses and back to their roots, I'll reconsider them. Until then; not one slim dime in contributions, and I'll vote for the candidate that most closely aligns to my beliefs - regardless of party.

Gravatar "The voices of negativity now have a responsibility to come up with an answer, ” RNC Chairman and U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez said."

Ok, how about this...Let's just build a fence along the border.

That common sense thingy is getting in the way of your poltiical grandstandineg, eh Mel?

Gravatar 11 Foot Fences just sell 12 foot ladders.

We can solve the immigration problem by doing just one thing.

DESTROY Cooperations who employ illegals.

Gravatar Slightly off topic, I would have E-Mailed this Johnathan but you have no contact information availible.

Curious what you and others think about this story?

I should be so lucky!

Gravatar Vince,

Thanks for the link to the story. I've got mixed feelings on it.

On the one hand, if she was here illegally, then she was here illegally. I don't know that she should have been rewarded with a green card just because she was married to one of America's finest.

On the other hand, it's bad enough that the poor woman has to deal with her missing husband, so deportation might have snapped her in two. I feel horrible for her.

I dunno. We have laws, and those laws have to be obeyed and enforced. If the laws suck, they should be changed, not ignored.

BTW, as for my e-mail address, crushliberalism-at-hotmail-dot-com.

Gravatar OS - I too have seriously considered changing my party affiliation to "Independent". My only concern is that doing so would preclude me from voting in the primary. Much as I'm p.o.'d at the Republicans, I would still like to have a say in who runs against Hillary/Obama in '08.

Gravatar Regarding Independent status, just remember that voting as such in 2008 is basically a vote for the democrats. I cannot speak for you, but I truly fear a President Clinton or President Obama. Please keep that in mind.

Gravatar While, I'd prefer a democratic candidate in office myself. Considering the choices we have I really am at the point where I don't care who wins the next election so long as Bush and Cheney are gone.
