If only 28 percent of today’s welfare population has to work, then the much celebrated Clinton welfare reforms aren't doing much good. Thanks for the great post, you've definitly got me thinking.

The welfare reforms have done more good, than not. Although.. forcing a person into unskilled job positions with no education isn't exactly enough to lift them above the poverty line. Yes it may bring them above the eligibility limits for welfare, but all it will do is create a circle cycle of crap-job hopping. It seems it would be a more logical/feasible solution to push higher education for welfare recipients. Just my two cents.. from someone who is there.
