Gravatar One of the Pooper's big cheap thrills when we finally took over the rest of the house is that she can now sit at the front storm door and watch the world go by. We put a bed right near so she can lie and watch. You'll be cleaning puppy nose prints off religiously.

Gravatar Glad to see I'm not the only country girl who lives close to the road.

Gravatar i would walk into such a door. i am not very smart.

Gravatar Jo - Keeping Windex on hand.

Liz - Ah! I thought that, having more acreage than we do, you might have escaped that fate. But I guess that's how they used to do things. I personally don't mind it. It's not very busy, aside from the occasional logging trucks. And we can see the horse pastures across the road (to the right of where you can see in the pic).

Gravatar m.d. - Ouch!

Gravatar It took me several looks to "see" the door. I see it now. Or rather, I see the door handles. And you can keep the other door open in winter? Neato.

Gravatar We could keep the other door open on a day like yesterday (60-something and mellow). But on a day like today (38 with howling winds) the main door is staying firmly closed!

Ah, unpredictable Southern winters...

Gravatar I just tagged you-you do as you please!

Gravatar I'm on it, Ilva! Thanks.

Gravatar Now, how many times will you walk into it before you stick something on the glass?

You're as close to the road as my house is.

Gravatar Ours isn't too busy, either, although there is some truck traffic. Our property goes back about 1800', and we have a LOT of road frontage (about 1500'). It's good because we don't have to deal with mud season and a rutty road, and we always get plowed out wicked quick. Our pond is across the road, so while that means its not very private, no one will ever be able to build there.

The next place (when? in 20 years?) will be a bit more off the beaten path.

Gravatar I'm with m.d. here--I'd walk into the damned thing
