The somewhat cynical side of me thinks that the timing for this press release has a lot to do with all the other energy issues NYC has seen these last few weeks - at least they're doing something. Without careful implementation, it may actually hurt the electricity problem. I cannot find the link now, but there was an article on how peak power consumption is getting later in the day (8pm - 9pm) as people go home and turn on computers, TVs, and other power-hungry gadgets. If they don't carefully enforce the car recharging times, people'll get home and fuel up the cars at the wrong time. Ooops.

I am glad someone is getting serious about plug-in hybrids, I just expected that California would be first.


I hope they use A123 Nano Phosphate Batteries


I can't seem to find too much of substance on the web about this battery. Why do you hope they use it?
