Gravatar We need more companies on a large scall to go green so that way it will become more fesable for everyone to be able to go green

Gravatar Even though this topic received attention, it's still news worthy. I was unaware of some of the details mentioned in the piece.

I think it's good to publicize companies when they do the right thing. I have a website where we look at recent stories about social responsibility (Latakia's Socially Responsible Business Forum), and find that the questions that come out of these news items usually lead to other questions. In this case, I'd like to know why more companies don't follow the Google example.

Gravatar Does anybody know why Google is going with Sharp panels when Nanosolar, a Google associated company, will be producing solar panels at a fraction of today's solar panel prices as early as next year? Perhaps, there will be room for expansions in the near future...

Gravatar The Googleplex is big enough that there's plenty of room for expansion. As for why they're doing it now, it's probably because they have the cash burning a hole in their pocket now and haven't figured out what to do with it all (Google gets ONE FOURTH OF ALL INTERNET ADVERTISING DOLLARS!!!! Whoa!)

Disclaimer: I work down the street from the Google offices, and curse Google twice a day because they've somehow managed to cram four times as many employees into those buildings as SGI had in there at SGI's peak, thereby tying up traffic for hours in the morning and the evenings :-(.
