Gravatar I agree 100% to these energy saving tips. Most of the time we just neglect these little things and most often think that it doesnt matter much. But if we are going to some up those leakage, poor insulation, ineffecient bulbs and lightings and defective appliances... in a single year it would amount to thousands of $$$$.

So why not start now and help save energy for the future. Much more use biofuels to help the environment.

Gravatar Please clarify that those thousands of dollars that you will save will be realized over decades; not this year, or the next, or the next...

Spending the extra money to greenify one's home is a capital outlay, which adds no value to the home and has an extremely long return on investment. I've got no problems with making improvements for conservation's sake, but grandiose claims regarding all the money one will pocket can be misleading. Also, a well-sealed home is a suspect factor in Radon poisoning (see EPA), but you can help fight Radon with what the old wives called spring cleaning. Open the windows and air out the house whenever the weather permits.

Since you are the biofuels expert, maybe you can answer some of the questions that I asked about bio-diesel in Monday's comments regardint the MIT science fair. Why isn't it or conventional diesel popular in North America?
