Thanks for your insights. How about FSC certified furniture for the next big thing? Did you know that up to 90% of the high end wood furniture imported into the US is made from illegally harvested wood from the rainforests? The stats are so grim that media dismisses this as hype, but this months astonishing National Geographic cover story about the loss of Amazonian rainforest gives credibility to the issues, stating that "In the time it takes to read this article, an area of Brazil's rainforest larger than 200 football fields will have been destroyed". It continues 27/7/365.

I think consumers would like to know they can help turn this around by purchasing furniture that has an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) tag on it, certifying that it is made from timber harvested from a well managed forest.
