I get your point here, but it would have been the same had Romo been hurt. QBs, and other headliners, always receive attention like this.

I beg to differ. I have seen plenty of quarterbacks get hurt in games, but the only time I have ever seen an injury treated as more important than the game itself was when a player looked seriously injured (i.e. broken neck) or the injury made you cringe watching it(i.e. Joe Theismann's broken leg). Favre's injury had neither of these qualities, yet he got the same treatment...because he's Brett Favre.
Frankly, no one deserves that kind of treatment for a minor injury. If Favre could have watched the game, he'd have been either embarassed or hugely flattered, but I'm sure he would have agreed it was overkill.
