I completely agree with you about Tiger Woods actually being at the helm of affairs and using his position in society to bring about positive change. But one can understand why people sometimes tend to criticize these stars for their acts. The problem is that a lot of high-profile celebrities prefer to keep their charitable act as much under wraps as possible and that is not the right way to go about it, I feel. It is one thing to not want to sound pompous in front of everyone but to further their cause it is important for big stars to come out in the open and talk about their frequently so that more people follow in their footsteps.

Also, many people expect players like Tiger Woods to be involved in helping improving the condition of their community. I feel what they don’t understand is guys like Tiger, Jordan and perhaps to some extent now Lewis Hamilton, the real task for them is to bring about important change in terms of helping people who need to be helped across a cross-section and that is why they are sometimes isolated for being seen as not doing enough for their community and that I feel is terribly unfair.
