Gravatar Beautiful scarf! I'm knitting lace this summer too...and socks.

Gravatar Love reading your blog. beautiful knits! Also love seeing Chicago through your eyes. I was raised in the city and my son now lives there.
I am passing your blog onto my sister, another great knitter and she lives in the city as well. Thanks
Eileen

Gravatar Lovely knits! I hope the top works out, as it looks like it could be pretty ...

I have such a crush on Anne Carson. Thanks for expanding my vocabulary, as I had to look up priamel.

Gravatar I've been thinking about starting that scarf, too. Yours is coming out so pretty!

Gravatar Wow that scarf is gorgeous! I couldn't "help" but look at the joker - he played it perfectly - and then look what happened?! ugh. Anyways - the sweater is on it's way to beautiful also! Enjoy your trip - I've never been but it is on my short list of places I'd like to go.

Gravatar love malabrigo sock in lace patterns, it is just so pretty, enjoy the scarf.

Dark Knight *was* very gritty - I agree with paying attention to knitting parts.

Enjoy Oregon, such a pretty place!

Gravatar Beautiful scarf! So jealous of your trip to Portland

Gravatar You have to go to Powell's!

Gravatar That scarf is gorgeous -- I love the color, so rich and deep. Will you be in Portland for Sock Summit? I haven't been before, but I've also heard that Powell's is a must-see.

Gravatar Lace is a really smart alternative to the summer sock. Light and small but still interesting. Your garter stitch edge on the Sage Remedy Top is really smart - I can't figure out how to make it work for me.

Gravatar portland is such a beautiful city. i recommend powell's, of course, and there's a great clump of restaurants on mississippi: gravy for breakfast, and miss delta for yummy dinner. oh, and the doug fir is a nice place to get a drink. and! i can't go to portland without taking a stroll down hawthorne. we were actually in portland two weekends ago, and tried a new place called toast for brunch, but it was a little out of the way from downtown...what area are you staying in?

Gravatar Love how your top is coming along. I think we're on the same schedule, same worries too about the volume. But LOVE this pattern.

Gravatar Love the scarf! I picked up some yarn this afternoon with the intention of trying (again to knit a lacy something or other -- hopefully, it will look like a scarf?

Gravatar The blues look pretty nice and summery to me. I haven't been to Portland in years, but it sounds like fun!

Gravatar I love your Sage top. I was considering knitting it too but worry about it for the same reasons. The other day, I was wearing an empire waist top, and a co-worker (who hadn't seen me in a while) asked me if I was pregnant. I definitely don't have a bun in the oven, and actually recently lost 14 lbs, so I was kinda bummed and amused at the same time.

I've always wanted to go to Portland. Do you know Posie Gets Cosy's blog? She lives in Portland and often talks about the cool stuff there.

Gravatar I second and third the suggestions for Powell's. You might also ask Sarah of Blue Garter blog; she lives there and always seems to visit cool places!

I love your lace scarf. I do agree with you on the worries about some knits looking like maternity tops. I don't knit the empire waist ones for that reason. I hope your top comes out just how you like it!

Gravatar Lookin' good. Enjoy your trip to Portland! Check out the Sock Summit Group on Ravelry...there are lots of ideas there as to what to do while in the Portland area.

Gravatar I have some reading that I need to mail you. And you still need to knit some socks this summer.

I have liked that Sage Remedy top too. I think that with out the ribbing, it will be more flattering. I can't wait to see it finished.

Gravatar I am a sweater knitter when it gets hot out...though I do have a bunch of lace socks to finish up!

Gravatar Thanks for the link to the scarf pattern. As for Portland, visit McMenamins! It's a renovated elementary school that's now a restaurant, brew pub, theater, and lodge. The whole place still has the old schoolhouse elements intact.

Gravatar Ditto for Powell's. There's a yarn shop w/a nice cafe...

Nice lace scarf! Perfect for summer.

Gravatar Such a gorgeous scarf! And I just love Portland! Powell's and Twisted (yarn store) are my top recommendations!

Gravatar You were right - I loved "Mr Pip" and thanks for the recommend. I just finished White Tiger and The Angels Game and picked up Lisa See's new book from the library today. Any other suggestions???

Gravatar Cote de Azure is such a gorgeous color. I love the scarf! It'll be so pretty!

Gravatar My computer ate my comment!

Cote de Azure is a lovely color. The scarf will really show it off!

Gravatar Hey there! It has been a while since my last visit--you sure have been busy!!!
