You might like the blog Class and Coffee if you don't already know it. Sarah is a knitter and posts lots of recipes as she is learning to cook. Maybe one day I'll be tempted to dust off the cookbooks?

I agree with you on Knitty. I was very disappointed with the lack of sweater patterns, and PopKnits summer issue didn't seem to offer much either. I think the other commenters are right that being able to self-publish must be easier and more satisfying to the designers.

I agree on the knitty, it's very blah. I think that the editors are bringing patterns in that are 'new' and/or 'funky' and aren't thinking so much about wearability.
