You're wrong about it being an awful album. "Camden Girls" is wonderful, and there are a lot of other great songs, especially Kilburne Lane:

If you like Wreckless Eric, this was a breakthrough record for him -- recovering from a serious mental breakdown in 1988. The companion disc is Clay Harper's East of Eden, which Eric produced, sang, and played guitar on.
If you don't twig him, don't worry -- most people don't.
