I love this album; interesting you should make a Nirvana comparison as I saw both bands in my first year at Uni (1990/91) and both times at the Newcastle Mayfair. However, watching the Charlatans was like having them pop round to your house and recreate the album; watching Nirvana was like being part of an astonishing event. No criticism of Tim and the boys, just (totally) different attitudes. I am glad I was at both.

Spot on, yet again. Well worth tracking down the actual track 'Between 10th and 11th' which featured in a Peel session around the time of release.

I think this is one of the great unnoticed albums of the 90's...I always liked the transition from trippy optimism of the baggy to the inevitable comedown...I still rate this album highly.

I still think Tremolo Song is an underrated song in their catalogue, every time those keyboards kick in...
