I LOVE Rachael Maddow. She's proof that eventually the right people do get to positions to be heard. I'd LOVE to hear what she had to say to them about de-dyking her. Thing is....she's so intelligent AND full of class she'll pull it off HER WAY1

Whenever she's on Keith Olbermann's program she's always behind a desk, and I'm assuming she'll have a desk also, so WTF is a skirt going to prove? The only thing that they can do, appearance wise is to change her hair style.
MSNBC needs to get over themselves! If they want to be the anti-FOX channel, then they need to have a whole battery of gay people!
Same thing happened to that poor hag Gretta Van Susteren when she made the move to Fox from CNN. In her case it was a complete tear down. I think Rupert Murdoch assisted in the face lift to make sure it was tight enough. Rachel looks fabulous as is! But it would be fun to see what she looks like with a Blonde Beatty Bouffant.

Why did they promote her to such a position, if they didn't like her style? If they're looking for something to make over, Chris Matthews' combover should be first in line.
Ellen has not had to bend too much. Although Maddow's look does not bother me in the least, it is television, so she may be able to pick up some viewers with a few small changes. I'm not talking about a full on glam treatment - slightly longer hair, not too noticable make-up.

I think those glasses are a bit fugly, but to each their own. I hope she tells the powers that be to go piss into the wind. MSNBC is just another P.O.S. network that not too many people watch (because many no longer GET MSNBC with their basic cable package), so I don't think the execs should be getting too freaking pushy. Rachel is a HUGE piece of talent that they are LUCKY to be getting. Freaks! I'm guessing Rachel will handle their "suggestions" with her usual grace and wit.

Page Six is notorious for creating bullshit stories about the more liberal MSNBC pundits. Keith Olbermann has to debunk a Keith/Page Six story about once a week on Countdown. Let's not forget that Page Six is owned by Murdoch of Fox News.
I've read countless interviews with Maddow and it's made clear she has no intentions of "tarting" up for the cameras. Well...beyond cosmetics. I'm sure the Page Six asshats are annoyed that Keith Olbermann helped Maddow get her own MSNBC show. They attack Keith regularly -- so why not insult one of his friends? Going after a woman's looks (lack of femininity) is nothing new -- except this time they try to make MSNBC the culprit. All of the promos for Rachel's MSNBC show feature her looking very much like herself. No wigs...no skirts.

Actually -- the skirt thing is what makes this whole story questionable. Why would MSNBC insist she wear skirts when you won't even be seeing her from the waist down. A lie I tell ya.
I think she looks good, looks right for who she is, perfectly attractive woman, and the "glam squad" is just going to make her look ridiculous.

I think she's plenty glam. Pretty, smart, well informed, passionate (sometimes to a fault), and she obviously has a friendly back and forth going with Pat Buchanan. Love her.

How many people have more than three or four suits? Seriously.
When her show starts, she'll have a wardrobe provided for her and she won't wear the same outfits very often.
NBC tried the same thing with Mary Carillo during the Olympics. They had her wearing some loose, scoop neck silk blouses during her late night/ early morning segments.. and she looked as comfortable and glamorous as a wet dog.

rachel maddow is beautiful, but that doesn't mean she couldn't be more styled...her suits are ill fitting and color choices are sometimes too pale. it is television "entertainment," after all.

Rachel ROCKS, and we are all happy for her success (insert thunderous applause)! If RACHEL feels like making some sartorial moves, so be it. Let's face it, we all DO wear costumes, at the appropriate times. Someone suggested a real sweeping gown, and I'm down for that.
