Yes, it was a pretty damn good day. No idea what the story about the fireworks was, we were all wondering when they started so far away from the pier.

Beautiful pictures, beautiful men. We're having ours down here this weekend in ATL due to the whole drought/Piedmont Park thing, at the civic center. Just one question: did you have Frito Lay at your pride giving out big-ass bags of Wavy Lays and other fatty substances?

Woah! That guy at the Pier Dance is as red as a Lobstah! Do they still make Solarcaine?
And yes, yes, yes, Eric Leven is about 12 dozen kinds of cute (Leven is Heaven...?) But I've had a thing for Cute Jewish Men since I had one for a boyfriend back in Atlanta... (sigh...)
Looks like you guys had a gay ole time!

Great photos! We were just 'downwind' from you at our perch outside Kettle between Duplex and The Stonewall ... It's so funny how many people I know have these spots picked like religions - and I'm definitely one of them.
I stupidly did not check the weather before I cruised out of the apartment that morning, so my dumbass was walking around SOAKING WET in white linen pants all day. It was a little bit more proud than I had intended to be =). But hey, fly the flag, sister!

Dears,
Not everything I offer you has been Photoshopped. Nevertheless, I am definitely a cosmetic surgeon-manque. Once you set the premise that some alterations or cropping is acceptable, the rest is just a matter of degree. (It's like saying that although your price may be high, you're a whore once you admit to a price.) And where is it written that ANY of this is real anyway, huh?

If you're quibbling over Tony using photoshop to take a couple of years off his friends check out something called "Hollywood". There are people there who claim to be in their '60s and '70s yet their skin looks like porcelain yogurt, their hair is architectonically symmetrical and their breasts are one size short of a pair of zeppelins. Nothing is real is imageland. It never was.

Dear Mr Menendez,
I know, I know, and the having of fun is always good. I hope you will always forgive my natural inclination to philosophize about the appearance of things. I have little use for the substance of things.

It was a great day. Lord, was it hot before the rain, though! We manned our usual spot in front of the Presbyterian Church at Fifth Ave & 11th Street. It's shady and the nice deacon let us in for a minute to look around this old, old church (just beautiful inside!)
My thanks to the lovely Hispanic girls who let me share their umbrella when the deluge came. Fortunately, the side of the church is covered in scaffolding for some restoration, so we ducked under there with about 1,000 other wet gays. Then we hiked up to Chelsea for some damp shopping and ended up wedged into "G" with the pretty boys for late afternoon cocktails (They were having a luau so all the hunky bartenders were draped sarongs and little else...woof!) Some kid from Hawaii wanted to marry my husband (telling him repeatedly that he was the "only daddy" in the place).
Lovely dinner in the Village and my husband and I wrapped up our 23rd NYC Gay Pride!
