Gravatar I just love it!

Gravatar Comments accusing Jann Wenner of gay-based misogyny in 5... 4... 3...

Gravatar I predict the Republicans will raise money by having people drop quarters while they watch Levi and Bristol fuck.

Gravatar While Obama may be portrayed as the biggest celebrity in the world, at least he isn't an active celebrity maker. At the worst, Sarah will get a Lifetime movie out of it. I'm thinking "Not Without My Daughter's I Mean My Baby" starring Valerie Bertanelli.

Gravatar I think it's pretty clear how hypocritical the Republican party is.

Someone should cut and paste commentary made by right wingnuts when Clinton had his affair and the 'family values' bullshit.

Then post their comments with this pregnancy.

What I find the most ironic is that right wingers can forgive people that agree with them (religious nuts and other republicans) but for some reason the left is just going to hell. Even though Hillary forgave her husband.

And then of course the argument that this is a "family matter". I thought Bill's indiscretion was a 'family matter'. But I guess we only expect 'morality' from the President, not a Vice President.

Gravatar shameful, just shameful attacking this poor woman and her family besides i think you all are making much too much of all this... palin might just make a wonderful president, you never know... tho i can't always agree with her politics and i'm sure if i invited her to tea that my powers of persuasion and gay retorik would convince her to see things our way i've always said that if we ever had a woman president it would be along the lines of a maggie thatcher and la palin seems to fit the bill quite fine... i just don't see all this fuss about a pregnant daughter, etc... what on earth does that have to do with governing a nation anyway, it's private business... and people do change so let's see what happens... this election process is certainly turning out to be quite surprising and i'm sure more fun is on the way--- the american way!

Gravatar I think it does not help the Dems cause at all. (based on the cover only)

It shows a mother who protects her family. That's VERY AMERICAN.

Granted, you can disagree with her on policy, but you have to give her credit and respect for that!

The Dems need to go all Charlotte (of SATC) and buy the biggest and the best...baby basket that you can find! (Trivia: What basket did they buy Laney?)

Gravatar I really think we should stick to the facts that she's totally unqualified for the job and that she won't take questions from the media.

Oh, and the queen, "palin might just make a wonderful president, you never know" is really not much of an argument. The same could be said of almost anyone.

Gravatar Yeah, I give Palin a lot of credit for accepting the VP nod when she knew her 17-year-old unwed daughter was knocked up and would shortly become the unwitting center of attention for the entire world.

I nominate her for fucking Mom of the Year! Wahoo!

Gravatar @ TED "I really think we should stick to the facts that she's totally unqualified for the job and that she won't take questions from the media." EXACTLY!!!

Although I love how the mag lists her problems and then ends with "more embarrassing surprises".

But I have to (gasp) agree with Joe-in-Atlanta: this isn't necessarily going to help the Dems cause. My concern is that the repubs. have vilified the media and the judiciary. If we can't trust our news services, where do we get information? But its a great strategy, we don't agree with them so we cut them down so NO one believes them.

Gravatar @Band: emphasis, of course, on the "fucking".

Gravatar Ha Ha! Band I just mumbled the same thing to myself!

Gravatar If the Obamaites just let this take its course, it will be more helpful than harmful to them. the best line of attack is really at McCain and what he didn't know, mentioning everything but the bun in the oven. Yes, it's a private matter, but this also is something that's offensive to a lot of rank-and-file religious people who take their morality seriously. This won't necessarily drive them into the Dems' arms, but it would deflate their energy on election day.

Gravatar How you can say that anyone with whose politics you have deep problems can be a great president is unfathomable to me. I thought of this last night when Lieberman was speaking, too: people seem to think there's some other aspect to successful governing than politics. I don't get it.

Gravatar YOu cannot say she is a protector of her family or she would have thought about her daughter and what this publicity is going to do to her.

Gravatar @ the queen - your tiara is askew.

This woman preaches abstinence-only, "family values" and evangelical morality. The fact that her own kid is knocked up is a testament to failure.

Then there's TrooperGate, which is downright ugly, and lies about earmarking federal funds and the Bridge To Nowwhere.

queenie - don't you have access to Wikipedia?

This woman is so dirty all the Oxiclean in the world couldn't get it off of her.

Gravatar the repubs keep saying this is a private matter, is'nt the what the prochoice bunch have been saying for years? silly repubs need to get the story straight

Gravatar Uh, TED...you might review the queen's post. Take sarcasm pills first...

Gravatar This is the first picture I've seen of Palin holding her kid...usually it's the preggers one holding it. What kind of mommy factor is that?

Gravatar i can almost smell the baby powder, but i still would never vote for grampa mcbomb and the fertility goddess.

Gravatar It does give the Republicans alot of free publicity and its another distraction from the issues. I just hope people do not fall for this ploy from the republicans.

Two months of seeing Palin's baby pictures staring back at you in the supermarket might make some people want to vote for her.

It is just a distraction.

61 days to election day and counting.

Gravatar To say she is unqualified is sexist; she is a fucking governor of a state.(Bush,Clinton,Reagan,Carter -- all governors). What is fair to say -- is that you believe with conviction that your candidate is MORE quailfied. But the obama thugs are not doing that. They are attacking her family, last week aledging her daughter was in fact the real mother of Sarah's new child. This gave the republicans a reason to declare that the daughter was in fact pregnant on her own. After nine months of Hillary bashing, the obama dems don't have a clue what wounds they are reopening. Sarah Palin is very conservative --- there are tons of reasons why democrats would not want her in the White House --- but attacking her family is folly. John Edwards --- for example, how quickly we forget and judge someone else. And now dems have released Sarah's social security number. What are these people thinking?? Even obama has said lay off ...

Gravatar douglas in oklahoma, you never disappoint.

Gravatar why do you still attack obama so much?

Gravatar not obama --- his thugs, can ya spell ad hominem --- knock the shit out of the republicans, but it better not be sexist or racist or anti-gay........we are democrats

Gravatar This bitch should be in the kitchen, barefoot & pregnant. That seems to be the type of woman she admires.

Gravatar THIS WOULD NEVER BE DONE TO A MAN. SHAMELESS.

Gravatar Go ahead and talk about her politics but her gender is off limits in my opinon. Otherwise what makes gay people think it cannot be returned in kind. And since they already employ these tactics, we just come off like bitchy queens. That article is gonna backfire on us and all democratic hopefuls. I said it earlier; if this becomes a contest between a white woman and a black man, we need only look to history.

Gravatar "To say she is unqualified is sexist"

No, it's not. To say she is unqualified because she is a woman is.

"she is a fucking governor of a state."

So? That gives no one more qualification than say "a peanut farmer"?

Gravatar "We are Democrats."

Right, Douglas. You and Joe Lieberman.

Gravatar Why does Jann Wenner hate America?

Oh yeah, he's a gay hollywood-ista.

Gravatar ooh look there's band and he's wearing a big tent.....or is that rock hudson in a caftan.........

Gravatar Pathetic.

Gravatar Surprisinngly enough, this bit comes from the National Review

"If the Obamas had a 17 year-old daughter who was unmarried and pregnant by a tough-talking black kid, my guess is if that they all appeared onstage at a Democratic convention and the delegates were cheering wildly, a number of conservatives might be discussing the issue of dysfunctional black families."

Gravatar and ryan, for the tenth time, just google obama and review his stint as a US Senator. It ain't his fault he was a freshman for two years in the minoity party with little power or shit to do; however, after the dems won power at the end of 2006, obama was too busy running for president to get his work done as Senator. As Elizabeth Edwards now knows: Glass Houses are dangerous places. Sarah Palin has been the top executive for the state of Alaska -- not just making speeches. She maybe be the crazy wing-nut christain republican you claim --- but she is still the governor, not obama. That experience counts no matter if it was done in pumps or moose hunting boots.

Gravatar Just remember the state of which she is Governor (for only 20 months) has half the population of Nassau County on Long Island in New York State. The town of which she was Mayor has only 7,000 people which is really, really small. So it is not sexist to say that she is less experienced than other Governors who have held higher office in this country as she has been governor for a shorter time and in a far smaller state.

Gravatar It's also important to point out that AS A WOMAN she wants to take away women's control over their own bodies and hand it to the fundamentalists who believe not only that abortion is wrong IN EVERY CASE but that contraception should be reclassified as murder and prosecuted as such. I don't think it's sexist to point out that that is some seriously fucked up shit coming from a female politician in this day and age.

Gravatar Sue, your comments are true. The shit being said about Sarah is that she is not quailfied at all, no executive exerience -- that is false. To compare obama is going to hurt obama, his Senate record is of a freshmen with little to show and no top executive work at all. His giant talent is running for President. She may be crazy but every day she must make the calls, obama is on a team, not the coach. If you want to beat her up do your badass best, just don't make it sexist. But then there are those who do not think Hillary was unfarily treated.

Gravatar Having been a P.O.W. does not qualify McCain to be the President. Experience in government does.

Being a mother of five, having a disabled child, having a pregnant 17 year old daughter, being mayor of a town with a population under nine thousand, being governor of a state for less than two years, being able to kill a moose, all does not qualify her to be vice president.

Maybe the office of domestic relations?

Gravatar Inexperienced trollop....

and her daughter is a SLUT!

Gravatar "Being a mother of five, having a [mentally, i.e., taboo] disabled child, having a[n unwed,] pregnant 17 year old daughter, being mayor of a town with a population under nine thousand, being governor of a[n economically minimal] state for < two years, being able to kill a [cow] moose, all does not qualify her to be...president."

In voter's minds, however, qualifications are abstract and gut-feelings of 'can this person relate to ME?' are HUGE.

John Kerry was more than qualified, but people could not relate to the way he talked.

Republicans are rock stars at playing on this. Watch tonight: this will catapult her to further startdom, even if she doesn't win it for Olmanmccain--spread some on your hemmoroids, quick!--this time.

Gravatar How did I not know Jann Wenner was gay?

Gravatar I love how the McCain spokesfolks are blaming all the negative publicity on "the tabloids". Maybe some of the tabloids have jumped on the wagon (I haven't been to the grocery store yet this week), but the last time I checked USWeekly wasn't a tabloid -- maybe not the top of the genteel heap but certainly not a tabloid. Want tabloids? Check the Star and the Enquirer. Nice try, McCain people, but it doesn't fly.

Gravatar He wasn't always, Ron. The big switch happened like 10 years ago.

Gravatar well i must say that me and the hubby saw her speech last nite and we were both impressed with her commanding presence and speaking power. (we both voted for hillary by the way) and she spoke the truth. obama does want to raise taxes and believe me nobody wants that. and he does not have the experience to run this country that was true also. she got some good barbs in i have to admit. now her politics are not my politics but i still respect her and admire her. so all in all as i've said before she is a force to be reckoned with and emerged from the all the ridicule dumping done on her this week with dignity and poise. she proudly presented her family for the nation to see and showed them love, compassion and respect and believe me that is something that resonates with many people and will count for much. i for one certainly believe that should she be president we have nothing to fear and that she will be able to execute the duties of office quite capabably and confidently. so don't underestimate her my dears. a lot can happen before nov 11. we will still probably vote for obama but will not be surprised if mccain and palin win so hold on to your tampons it's going to be an exciting ride.

Gravatar can anyone believe that Sarah Palin got more viewers to her speech than obama did? go figure, it's going to ba an interesting 60 days....

Gravatar "can anyone believe that Sarah Palin got more viewers to her speech than obama did?"

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ ...tings_batt.html

Gravatar The above link says "you're wrong" Doug.

Gravatar Last night CNN had tossed out numbers as high as 41 million for Sarah. But lets use the hateful Drudge REport: 37,244,000 for Palin and 38,379,000 for obama. Pretty much a dead heat for me; but consider one more thing(and this should make Axelrod nervous) obama was on ten networks and Sarah Palin was on only SIX. She was not carried on: TELEMUNDO, TV ONE, UNIVISION, and BET. SOOOOOO pablo how many more viewers whould she have gotten? This lady out of no where does as good or better than obama...Sooo pablo how wrong was I?

Gravatar Douglas, Douglas, Douglas. That bit about Palin not being on as many networks? Retracted yesterday afternoon.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/ be...ns_wattage.html

Pay attention!

Gravatar bandy bandy bandy...Bloomberg.com -- both speeches were viewed by a quarter of all American households; Black Entertainament Television, TV One, Univision and Telemundo DID NOT CARRY SARAH. Sept. 4,2008 // E! On Line -- Palin got 37+ million/ obama got 38.4....:but channel for channel Palin's was a bigger draw --- obama's speech carried by 10 broadcast and cable networks .. palin had 4 fewer." CBS NEWS -- Univision and Telemundo did not carry Palin's speech, a total of 4 less networks than obama's. FORBES -- more than 40 million watched palin. AND NONE OF THESE counted C-Span or youtube. Many many more news sources say the same -- either they are all wrong/or they are liars...OR you could be wrong. I read a lot of sources to build my opinion -- do you, bandy--- have your position first, then find the sources that agree with you? I DON'T EVEN LIKE SARAH PALIN AND HER RIGHT WING POLITICS; but give the woman the credit she deserves. She has knocked obama off the tube for a week, that is amazing and she drew as many viewers as he -- also amazing. oh yeah....bandy...PAY ATTENTION
