Gravatar Hey, Jog, I'm glad you liked Vimanarama and I'm hoping to talk more about religion and dress when I post on it (and maybe promising to post on someone else's blog will make me more likely to follow through) but I think it's important that the story seems to be set in England not India, so there are lots of implications about culture and assimilation that I think will prove to be very interesting.

I asked Steven if we could adopt Imran, but he doesn't think it's going to work out. Maybe I should push for those little parked vandals, especially if it turns out they're hiding ant heads under their hoods!

Gravatar Yeah, you're right about the location... I tried to look it up in the ads but I guess I couldn't place it. *Sigh*...

Cultural assimilation would be an interesting theme to explore in later issues; there's already some neat stuff in the background regarding the Westernized dress of most of the younger cast, so I'm sure such things can be easily expanded upon later... maybe the Legendary Heroes will make a stand for traditional spiritual values (in addition for fighting evil), creating clash with the human leads? That could prove to be fun...

Gravatar Speaking of religion and the characters' dress, I just this morning realized that the Adidas-like logo on Ali's ultramodern jacket is a degraded version of the lotus that summons the Ultrahadeen (and that hovers right above the logo on the cover). Great little detail - perhaps indicative of what's to come.

I was underwhelmed by this one at first, but I have a feeling it could grow on me over time.
