Gravatar How about "Jihad Jane"?

Gravatar Render unto Caesar that which is Caesars.

Gravatar Hello, Factchecker. You turned nasty and foul-mouthed, and I had your offensive posts deleted and you banned. I make it clear that I don't put up with foul language and bad behavior from visitors to my blog. I'll occassionally give as good as I get elsewhere, but this blog stays clean.

To other readers: "Factchecker" made an off-color hillbilly joke, two other meaningless comments, and asked whether it was Christian to dump on Hanoi Jane. First Grayson answered him as above, and then I gave as good natured an answer as I could. After that, Factchecker broke through his meds and started foaming at the mouth about my family. So I hit the delete key. Makes me feel glad to not be a liberal.

Gravatar I read the whole thread before you erased it. There was no profanity and no bad behavior except your thin-skinned reaction and cover-up. You know that you lied about the content of the comments. Why are you afraid of a free discussion on the 'net?

Gravatar Hello ILF:

I've got nothing against free discussion. Further, freedom is not the same as license-- a concept most people have forgotten about.

Since you are tuned in to this, I'll answer the question again which Factchecker sandwiched between his rather lame fecal joke and the abusive reference to my family life. And I'll be plain.

I've never pretended to be a very good Christian even though I do try. Jane Fonda has made herself fair game by using her celebrity status to undermine American policy, just as she did some thirty-five years ago. One of my many failings is that I am, indeed, rather judgmental, especially when it comes to people who seem at some deep down level to hate the country which gives them their freedom. But if I am ever condemned in the end, it will be for sins worse than ridiculing Hanoi Jane, who is no saint herself.

Incidentaly, ILF, I did not lie and you shouldn't say I did. Your standards are just very low. Probably comes from reading too much Daily Kos.

Gravatar Is it ever appropriate to undermine American policy?

What is a good Christian as opposed to a bad Christian?

During wartime? None that I can think of. Not even when Dems are in charge.

What is a good Christian as opposed to a bad Christian?

A good Christian is someone who has never sinned. Last person to fit that bill was the Blessed Virgin Mary. A bad Christian is one who claims to be a Christian but consciously undermines the beliefs of his denomination. I'd put John Kerry there, who claimed to be a Catholic yet promoted public policies clearly condemned as objectively evil by his own Church.

What am I? I am a practicing Catholic. I believe all the teachings of my Church and try to live up to them. I don't always do very well at that, and I do not consider myself to have a guaranteed ticket to Heaven. Some days I do better than others.

Gravatar Hey! I just noticed that Factchecker is promoting my blog over at Knoxnews, though he does it in a manner worthy of Bill (depends-on-what-the-meaning-of-"is"-is) Clinton. Thank you Factchecker!
