Gravatar Dear sir,

I just found your blog... You posted a comment at the latest entry of "Sister Toldjah" (whose site I also just found) at the same time I did! [My comment deals with the topic of Britain's approach towards Islamic terrorism... But I hope that people notice the links - their color is so close to the rest of the text.]

I was actually just thinking of your state (it's a great one) after work today... I've lately been thinking of it and North Carolina; there seems to be a strong influence of traditionalist conservatism in those locations. [U.S. Representatives John Duncan, Jr. (R-TN) and Walter Jones (R-NC) are two of my favorite members of Congress right now.] There is soooo... much more that I could say about these issues, but that will have to wait until a later time. You have a nice blog, and congratulations (I see below) on getting in the paper! [Or at least, in the paper's website... which is still pretty good!]

Gravatar Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I noticed the simultaneous posts as well. Sister Toldjah's site looks interesting and I will probably visit there again, as does yours.

John Duncan is an "old-line" Conservative. He favors strong national defense and traditional values, yet opposes most foreign intervention. He was one of the few Republicans to take a stand against the Iraq War from the beginning, but not because he was what the media calls a "moderate Republican", but more because he is conservative in the same sense as the Ohio Tafts used to be. I disagreed with his opposition to the Iraq War, as did most Tennessee Republicans. For all that, there has never been any significant resentment about his stand since (1) he harbours no apparent presidential ambitions and (2) it really did appear to be a matter of conscience with him.
