The New Perspective holds that Paul's polemic is focused on the status of Gentiles in the church rather than as an attack against any particular form of Judaism. Thus, Paul's arguments never deal with the entire law but only those aspects that are used by Paul's opponents to create a second-tier community in the church. Circumcision is--rightly--seen as one of the primary issues involved. Though you know my thoughts on the NP generally.

I don't care, but you'd probably be better off finding a published source from a proponent of the NP. Try something like Brendan Byrne, "Interpreting Romans: The New Perspective and Beyond," Int 58 (2004): 241-52. It will look better in your bibliography! But, if you're pressed for time and don't want to dig that hard, you can use mine.
