The Theological Ruminator

Gravatar What cracks me up are the lines of argumentation often used to discount the Gospels as evidence. I've often seem them dismissed by the claim that the writers were biased. My retort is quickly becoming, "So why should I refrain from dismissing your claim on these same grounds?"

Gravatar Yes! That's a good point.

Gravatar As I mentioned, I have a pending question on this topic. Essentially, my thinking is as follows.

If one is going to accept the lack of "external contemporary evidence" supporting the claims of the Gospel accounts as evidence against the Gospels being actual historical accounts, then one needs to have an argument as to why "external contemporary evidence" is necessary.

Without this, it's just bias. Well, it is anyhow, but anyway.

Gravatar John, my name is Mike Whitenton. This is totally random...and unrelated to this specific blog entry, but...I am starting classes at DTS online while I finish at A&M. My wife and I are looking into Apartment Life, and I was hoping to get some more specific input on the ministry. Would mind emailing me (or calling me) and letting me know what is what about AL. I will gladly email you my number if you like. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Gravatar Good to hear from you Mike. Check your email.
