The Theological Ruminator

Gravatar Come back anytime!
I'm glad you had a valuable time.
We are definitely blessed to have Randy aboard....

Gravatar Note that Bill said he would do it differently if given the option. The mega church movement is truly wonderful - at least, wonderful at promoting a grey matter church culture where success is viewed by mass numbers and the Christian life is determined by what church soccer team your kids play on. Sorry to sounds so cynical, but the apathetic and spiritually generic Christianity that plagues America is largely due to the Willow Creeks of this country. Seeker sensitive? - how about preaching the Gospel with boldness and letting the Holy Spirit soften hearts.

Gravatar So bitter!

Gravatar you mean you don't get angry when you see the church perpetuating a false sense of salvation?

Gravatar I think that I am uneducated enough in this area that I have to be pretty careful in my comments.

With that caveat, I also think that saying that WC perpetuates a "false sense of salvation" is a pretty strong claim. Could you be overstating your case? I mean, from your comments I get the feeling that you think Christianity would be better off if WC had never existed. Am I reading too much into them?

Gravatar hmmm...would christianity be better off without charles finney?

interesting thought.

Gravatar I think equating Willow with Charles Finney is quite the strong claim - I doubt you can support it.

Gravatar not without years of seeing the effect of willow creek. it was a comparison of sorts...just how a man with good intentions ends up screwing up how christians view faith and salvation. i'll get back with you in 150 years.

Gravatar Okay. We'll debate then!
