Okay. Ps 127 is another good jumping off point. How do I know when my quiver is full?
I mean, is the mandate to have as many kids as possible? How many is too many? Too few? Ten? Two? 1.5? Does conservation of earth's resources in a modern world play any part?

I'm a little late on this, but my thought is that when we see children as a problem we have lost something of our humanity.

No one said children were a problem.

Not sure if this comment will ever get read way down here, but I would recomend a book called "open embrace." If you check it out on amazon you can even read a few chapters of it (then you can go to "google print" to read a little more)
The book's main theme is contraception, but it attempts to answer the questions you pose.
Good luck and good questions.
If you want some heavier reading, I would recomend some stuff by Dr. Janet Smith, a roman catholic, who goes into more. And of course John Paul II has some of the best stuff.
