I like this line right here:
"Indeed, if the opposition to liberty were not so robustly active, we would fall into liberty with hardly any effort – we wouldn't be able to stop ourselves."
He was on to something.

He most certainly was, Adem. And jomama, that is indeed the highest tribute possible.

Very sad and so unfair. The vast majority of people I've encountered over the Internet would likely be vastly improved by death, yet the first actual death I hear about is one of the good ones. Is it known how he died or whether he was expecting this?
On a positive note, he seems to have made great strides in the quest for personal enlightenment in the last few months of his life, and so would have died as something close to a free man. Hopefully he had a great time on his holiday seeing the sights and screwing gorgeous Asian babes, or whatever he was in to.

Hello,
I am a cousin of Richard's. He and I wrote back and forth often. Does anyone know where he was when he died or what caused his death? I was unaware of it until today when I happened to see an e-mail written by another family member. Was anyone out there close to him? Please write and let me know. I'd like to know more. I believe he was somewhere in Malaysia last I knew.
Thank you,
~David
