Please talk amongst yourselves.

Gravatar Thank you for that. That portrait paints a thousand people.

Gravatar RSC or BBC? Seems to be a Freudian slip there in the fourth paragraph. Especially when you consider that Jonny works for the BBC off and on, in their Department of Trendy Right-On New Labour Propaganda or whatnot.

Frankly I had no idea that our Jonny was capable of generating such seething resentments. I just thought he was a bit creepy around delivery ladies and postwomen, but now I see there are vast vistas of Jonnyness yet to be explored. Can't wait for him to get back so we can tax him with it...

Gravatar Hmm Jungian maybe but not Freudian.

And I do love that phrase "happily punch someone in the knees". Not heard it for a while.

Gravatar oopses.

More than one?

Gravatar "I was having an actual physical reaction to the letters r, s and c"

Probably a good idea that you never get a job on Sesame Street then.

Gravatar Though I've been too lazy to post a comment after all your posts, I very much enjoyed them. If you start a blog of your own, do let me know.

Gravatar I'm with Ame.

Gravatar Thanks Betty, it's been fun having you around.

Gravatar Yes, what Ame said. And I initially thought the phrase 'take an early bath' was a mis-type. I'm going to use it all the time now :).

Gravatar This made me laugh so much. Please start your own blog.

Gravatar Thanks Betty,
I have enjoyed your work over the last week...so much so that a few of us thought we would club together and get you some fine wines and cheese from the ?Ecclefeckin district of - where did you say that interesting name came from? ...

Gravatar I think my problem with the RSC is that you join them to get your car mended if you break down, but they spend all their time lobbying for new roads and stuff, which isn't what I want at all.

Hullo everybody I am unpacking. I may be back later. Or tomorrow.

Gravatar Oh thank god. I'd run out of stories anyway. They've been very nice to me though, Jonny.

tra, all...

Gravatar As I was the first to say to all the people in the very important department I head up and my rapidly-accelerating career wife - when do you start your own blog?

You could call it...erm...something like...Betty's Bohemian Rhapsody..or, erm...People Are Stupid...

OK, maybe not, but you'll think of something.

And let us know via Johnny when you do, so you won't have to struggle for years to get a readership of 3...like me...

...or develop a nasty addiction for using suspension points.........

Gravatar From the sound of it, I would have said "MacBeth" at him every time he mentioned his beloved RSC. If I remember my Blackadder, such types are very superstitious about the Bard's "Scottish Play" and watching such shenanigans might have made the days a little easier.

Gravatar The line about the foxes 'lying there silently hating each other but satisfied" is sheer genius. Thank you for the fantastic stories. After climbing to such giddy heights though, perhaps it will be a relief to Jonny's readers to return to the world of baby poo.

Gravatar I am also adding to the clamour for Betty to have her own blog.

Not that we don't love and value you too, Jonny ... just being encouraging to Betty, not disparaging your own excellent blend of wit, stories ect. ect.

Gravatar AND she was better at darts.

Gravatar now pleaeaease tell me, what's RSC????

Gravatar It is the Royal Shakespeare Comapany dwahling.

And to all of you big sweeties sweetly clamouring for a Betty's Blog - thank you, but there won't be one.

This could be for one of three reasons:

1) I would love to, but am afeared of getting found out, which would be simply dreadful.

2) I already have a blog but am simply unprepared to let you know which blog it might be.

3) Blogging is for losers and crazy people.

I'm kidding, of course. Well, about some of the above. You can also decide which bits I might have been kidding about. Now I'm going to disappear, enigmatically.

Toodles.

Gravatar Well done Betty and i don't believe you've run out of stories. If you are interested (in blogging) take the plunge. I've found it a great source of delight on lots of levels and it keeps you off the streets and you meet nice folk.
Good luck!

Gravatar what's the Royahl Shak4speare compang?????
Who's Shakespeare?
