Lawrenceville Weather Blog

Gravatar Still love your weather blog. It keeps me much more informed than most of the other weather sites. I know things come by ebb and flow. And I wrote a comment about 6 months ago I believe, asking you about the ongoing drought in Georgia, and the southeast. At the time, I don't believe you were concerned. But I was...and still am. I read in your Masters outlook blog, March 30, about the 1-2 inches of rain Atlanta would get over the weekend. So far, we have .06 inches, and it appears that is all we will get---with the remainder drifting to south Georgia. At about 8 inches below normal, just for 2007 (with these being the critical precip months)...and much much below that if you look at all 2006, especially from summer on....what is going to happen with this drought? Our wettest month of the year (March) is behind us, with a long hot summer looming. Is this drought situation, which really goes back to 1998, more of a much longer term, and much worse, scenerio than we could imagine? When will the drought end?
