As a contractor nuclear safety inspector(Senior Heath Physic Technician for over 20yrs.), I was fired after reporting and first responder at FP&L St Lucie Nuclear Plant. Evan though it could had been the world worst nuclear accident, I was fired the next day because a Wackenhut Nuclear Security guard said I cause a door alarm while with FP&L as a 1st responder. Fed. Gov. oversight said I had no grounds for a clain because I was a contractor and inially said the event was not a Fed. concern.(Spent Fuel Pool was draining down w/out the plant's knowlege or control) The public safety was at risk and not notified. They had a simular event the yr. before and declaired an "Unusual Event",later down graded.
