I kinda like Warsteiner for a pilsner but Guinness is the all-time favorite. With exception to my own home brews.

You said it, Newcastle wins hands-down. Widmer Hefeweizen is also a favorite, as are Sam Adams and Moosehead lagers. I tried a San Diego ale, "Arrogant Bastard", the other day that wasn't too bad. Not as smooth as Newcastle, but still good.

About time ya slack bastard, any more slacker and they'd have to call you an Aussie.
Only beer I'll drink outside of Australia is Corona.
Crown Lager
Victoria Bitter
Boag St. George
West End
XXXX
Toohey's Draught
I can't say I touch anything else, but sometimes, eh, very rarely. I'm a creature of local habit.

Well, Jamie, I was getting a little tan anyways, I think I've had enough of both the beach and Mr Stephenson.

For shame, sir, for shame.

Maybe one day you can tell us all about the parable of Josh at the beach in Tennessee.
Keep going like that and maybe one day I'll take you to the secret tunnel that leads to the secret headquarters of the Australasian Order of Bullshit Artists. My old man was a member, so I get in automatically.

Commonwealth brews? Where, Canada?
Hahahaha Canada. Hahaha. Canada.
Hahaha.
And no I don't drink the warm beers from England. Ireland, eh, when I go there.
If you haven't guessed, this is patriotism for us, the states are divided by beers here too.

Er, mate, a parable infers that there is some lessons to be learned from the tale.
Let's see, how could I be at a beach and yet in Tennessee at the same time?
Eureka! I found some time portal and traveled to 2150, and I saw with mine own eyes the failure of the world to heed St. Albert of Gore's warnings about global warming (climate change?)! The sea levels rose, and Mississippi and Alabama were swallowed into the Inner Gulf of Mexico, so Tennessee was now on the coast.
That's my best shot, I guess.

It's not bad.
And you can learn stuff. You go to the beach....you never update your blog.

Josh: "Is there a good beer I'm missing up there?"
Yes, several Belgian imports. Try Westmalle Trappist Dubbel, if you can get it there.
(Your Blue Moon, made by Coors, used to be called "Blue Moon Belgian White" until they changed it as part of a lawsuit settlement; they now label it as a "Belgian-Style Wheat Ale".)
And if you like that type of Belgian witbieren, also try Hoegaarden (import).
"Any great micro-brews in your neck of the woods?"
There is a brewery in Fort Collins, CO, called New Belgium. Their flagship brews are based on those same brewing processes developed by monks in their namesake country.
They also ran afoul of some Belgian brewers over the use of the word Trappist; they now use "Belgian-style", too.
You can find their products in most states west of the Mississippi, but they're not in TN yet and they do not do Internet sales. So if you make it out this way some time, give 'em a try.

Now I hate Michigan as much as the next guy, but since I've been stuck here I've noticed they have more than their fair share of microbrews and upstart beer companies.
The best: Frog Island Amber, Ypsilanti
Good for the summer: Oberon (a little like Blue Moon)
Otherwise I'm all about Negra Modelo, Smithwick's, Guinness, Killian's, Newcastle, and whatever's left of the homebrew in the basement.
Sorry I'm posting so late on this. I'm new to you but a veteran ilk-lurker. You'll find the minor annoyance is well worth knowing about Frog Island Amber.
