Born Again Redneck in the State of Jefferson

The entrance of Mrs. Palin on the ticket suddenly raises this from a "lesser of two evils" election, to one of hope for the future of America. I must admit she is a refreshing contrast to business as usual inside the beltway.

Being bipartisan does sound like a good thing if all it does is make both parties corrupt.

We live in Oregon, a state with a majority of Democrats. One has to work with Democrats, if one wants to get anything done.
Many of the conservative Democrats are ignored in their own party, and they are willing to work with Republicans, because we agree on many issues.
A Republican in a blue state can't always get what he wants, but if he's flexible, he just may get what he needs.
I don't think it's much different on the National level. There are, numerically, more Democrats than Republicans. Since Reagan's time, Republicans have reached out to Democrats to win elections.
I think the bipartisan tone of the convention was excellent. I'm hopeful that a McCain/Palin ticket will have wide appeal to a majority of Americans, who will get some of what they want and hopefully all of what they need.
