I was just wondering, Is ranitidine,zantac 300mg tablets a controlled substance or concidered to be addictive? The reason I ask is because my 16yr old daughter who has a severe case of acid reflux and is now having blood in her stool and not eating right due to a stomach problem one of her classmates at school tols one of the teachers she had pain pills in her pocketbook so they took her to the office and asmuch as done a prison like shake down on her she told them she had zantac in her pocketbook, but they insisted it was PERCOCET..the school nurse said that zantac didn't come in a peach colored pill with the #300 on it to make a long story short she was suspended for 10 days and we have to go before a tribunal today to see what kind of punishment she will recieve..this has been blown way too far out of the water over a ZANTAC!! I think, please tell me your thoughts on this situation.
Zantac is not a controlled substance. I would ask that a pharmacist identify the medication in her defense. Hope things go well for your daughter. Let me know!
