Amen! As you know, I see the ARNP when I am able instead of the MD at my GYN practice and the same holds true for the ARNP at my daughter's peds practice. ARNP's are awesome! No, they cannot do everything an MD can do but they can do a lot and they do it well... and they know when to consult the MD for assistance.
There are also WAAAAYYYY too many MRI's, CT's etc ordered... duplication of costly services, often unneeded. I also cannot see a practitioner not ordering a needed test but there needs to be fewer unneeded ones ordered!
I agree with not doing unnecessary testing Lisa! I always know that you stand behind (and beside) NPs.
I'm undecided about the bill as of yet but I will say I, too, do not like the comments by Peter Ferrara about NPs.
