I like the Jasper Johns painting in the context of thinking about Ike Turner and Sam Phillips. I wonder if Ike or Sam had any awareness of Johns, or vice versa?

Too bad Ike was a nasty dude, because it seems few people are aware of the amazing music he was making in the 50s, and really how important a figure he was at that time.
