I'm sure I've heard Corale before . . . maybe on Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music? :D
Interesting notes about Durante, I didn't know any of that history.
Thanks as always for the blogging.

"balder and dash." Mencken quotes are almost always great.
I think it would have been great to be alive in the 20s.
Nice job, as always.
Suggestions for the "After You've Gone/Body and Soul" treatment: "Ghost of a Chance," or maybe "I've got the world on a string."

thanks all. Mark, i agree it would've been, to tweak old William W., bliss to have been alive in the '20s (esp. in NYC or Chicago or Paris) while to be young would've been very heaven. well, they still had polio, though, and another gruesome war was coming soon enough.
the next standard i'm taking on (hopefully the post will be up next week) is more obscure than usual, though you might be familiar w/it..

Me three re: the 20s, for music, but also fashion, art, architecture. Besides being in the medical dark ages, there was also racism, sexism, etc. So maybe not.
