Gravatar Good bless him. As far as Rock & Roll goes, he pretty much defines "seminal".

Gravatar You're right, the Weiland is weird and evocative and pretty cool. And you're right, this is a massive, massive post. As always, I really like the candid, ordinary folks photos.

Gravatar Thank you for another fine history lesson

Gravatar You summed up the perfect discription of The Mountain's High. In my memoir, Vinyl Highway,I wrote about how that song came into being and what went wrong in the studio to create a single that sounded like it came outter space.
All the rest of your information about Dick and Dee Dee is correct, something rare these days. You're also an excellent writer.
Thanks for writing about Dick and Dee Dee and The Mountain's High.
Best Wishes,
Dee Dee Phelps

Gravatar Ms. Phelps--

& Thank you for a fantastic song. Glad the info was correct.

best,
Chris

Gravatar Thanks so much for "I'm Late" with Stan Getz and strings. I am a 35+ year professional violinist and have done jazz sessions myself (Art Pepper, etc.) but this is the best I've heard in so long! Sauter's arrangement is amazing, and it's interesting that even such a crack New York string group would have evident difficulties with the rhythms! Anyway, an inspiring tune for an aging fiddler still working "in the trenches."

later,
John (Tenney)
