The local educational broadcaster included the scene with the opening of the Waring version in what seemed like an endless series of ads for The Singing Detective...causing it to be permanently lodged in my head!
Yeah, it was rewatching "Singing Detective" that inspired the whole mess.
William, I really ran out of steam around the '60s (there are only so many versions of this song you can hear without going mad), so I'm sure there's plenty of room for other surveys. The Sonic Youth/Rudd sounds cool.
