Gravatar Thanks so very much for such great research and excellent commentary...it has also been a real treat to be able to give my girlfriend some perspective on the certain aspects of the world and its happenings for the year of her birth...Terrific work you are doing!

Gravatar Nice piece on the Sims Twins. And you're right, Sam had big plans for SAR and could've taken it to new heights had he not passed.

There were sinister forces prepared to blacklist Sam from playing Las Vegas or some of the higher-end Supper Clubs for "non-compliance," but SAR was his creative outlet. Signing Bobby Womack and Billy Preston as teenagers was just an example of his eye for spotting young talent.

Gravatar This was a pretty bold & genius move to make in 1961. Times were (yes) simpler then, but in a way much more difficult; What, with racism and the Music Business monopoly probably being huge obstacles to contend with every day, I'll bet they had to put up the good fight (against the bullshit) just to then be able to run their business and get to the substansial stuff that mattered.

Unimaginable........
