You can still use them as long as you use two scarves. The fancy one is a draft-stopper around your neck (and can be left on in cool buildings), the second is the thick face wrap. 
Just do your best avoid the overheated spaces you inevitably end up passing through while wearing your outerwear. Like those busses that are so nice when you first get on, but force you to strip everything off by your stop. Or vestibules. They're a killer too.
That is very, very pretty.
