A wonderful edition, Julia! I am honored to bring the Legacy to my humble blog for the first time on the 5th.

Excellent work! Though considering Linnaeus' low opinion of the possibility of species transmutation, one wonders what he would have thought about something commemorating Darwin .

Julia - thanks for including a post of mine, but I cannot take credit for the photos. They were all stolen off the web. I used that post as a place to vent and rant without words after seeing a student presentation on soil insects in which nary an insect was mentioned (though everything you see in my post was). These were undergraduate biology majors mind you. Though freshmen if that makes a difference.
Perhaps I should do a better job of crediting my photo sources.
Nice job with this edition! (BTW, I apologize if this is a duplicate comment - I left one earlier, but don't see it listed here yet, so I thought maybe I forgot to hit "Publish")

Thanks for the clarification (I sometimes shamelessly steal photos too). Haloscan does take a little while to update itself, but both comments made it through - one on the announcement and this one on the carnival post itself.
