How is it a bad sign to finally have an NDP member talking about winning in 2011 compared to individuals like Frank Quenell who seem to think winning in 2011 is impossible. www.dwainforleader.ca

winning should be secondary to re-building and re-energizing the party.
If the SaskNDP thinks that they are only a few seats away from re-gaining power in 2011 they are in for a big surprise. There needs to be substantial return to grassroots if anything is to be sustained in 2011 and beyond.

That is why winning was the third thing mentioned by Lingenfelter after he mentioned selling memberships and rebuilding the organization so that an election campaign could be fought.

I'd still think that's missing some serious points though. As much as I'm a fan of building the party, I'd also much prefer to have a leader who actually has some goals in mind for where the province should be led - rather than one whose stance on policy seems to be "yeah, we should come up with some of those".

I agree, it will be important to get some ideas from all the candidates but it is also important to include general members in deciding policy and allowing members an increased voice at policy discussions.
