When I was about 13 years old, I read "Little Women" ( and have re-read it many many times). I remember the rush of feeling and the ephiphany of the moment, when with tears sliding down my cheek and the sudden inability to swallow, I truly understood the power of a good book.
The passage in "Little Women" that evoked that strong emotion and will forever be an important memory was in Chapter 40 - The Valley of the Shadow. Was there ever a more angelic character than Beth March?
At the recommendation of Elisson, I am planning on reading "Cloud Atlas" next, but I will surely now have to add "Plainsong". Thanks!

I've added Plainsong to my Amazon Wish List, based on your recommendation. (Can you take the pressure?)

I'm not sure I can take the pressure, no. I hope you like it and if you don't well... you wouldn't hit a man with tears in his eyes, would you?
