Gravatar Oh man -- you're already kissing up to her.

And did you notice how Steve tried to get a date out of that post??

What if that's a stock photo and she really looks like Liza Minnelli?

Gravatar See, mistake #1 is asking for links. I mean, that's been done before and let's just say that it hasn't always worked out so well for those doing the requesting. C'mon, don't be hypocritical =) (And yes, I jest)

Gravatar "Unfortunately, her blog roll doesn't list On Message from Wagner Communications."

Dear John,

Sorry for the oversight. It's the Attention Deficit. "On Message" has been added.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Regards,

- Amanda

Gravatar Meh! Spin Bunny wannabe! Heh

Gravatar She likes me! She really likes me!

Scott, given that Amanda said something to the effect that SR was testosteronally challenged, I doubt he'll be able to get a date. Maybe she'll podcast with him or something.

Gravatar Credit where it is due. Amanda has made a nice site.
But is it a purple cow with its stark content or is it just going to get geeky gents hot under the collar for a few minutes while they get used to it?

Lets see...

Gravatar Who you calling geeky?

Gravatar I am all for being real. John makes a good point though gents, this gal may just be taking you all for a ride. For all we know, it could be Steve in diguise!

I did a Google search for Amanda Chapel and got nada, besides some religious references. So, do you think a PR professional with 15 years in would really have NO Google juice? If not, she must be pretty low rung.

Would the real Amanda please stand up?

Of course, I have no problem with this, since obviously she might want to avoid being dooced (fired); however, if she is claiming to bare all and she is willing to publicly diss real people, wouldn't it be nice if she also bared her real identity?

If anyone knows the real "Amanda," feel free to speak up!

Gravatar Kami:

I did the same search and found nothing ... and of course that photo is just some cool stock photography (I should find a beefcake pose and put it up on my blog). So it wouldn't surprise me if Amanda was a guy ... even another PR blogger. I mean, how many people really know who Steve Rubel is ... and care about whether he gets fired or not? I'm guessing not many.

Gravatar I don't know who she is either. I've read her bio several times (see http://www.strumpette.com/index....a% 20Chapel.html ). I just can't figure it out. And I've spent the better part of the last 37 years trying.

Regards,

- Amanda Chapel

Gravatar Kami... I Googled Amanda's name too. Zilch.

Was thinking maybe her name was an anagram of some sort?

Smart girl... She registered her domain through a proxy...

Gravatar Not one to let everybody know I was right all along. But check my initial post on her/his blog.

Spin Bunny in a different form.

Gravatar Stephen:

I only read Spin Bunny once, and it was pretty meaningless to me since it was all UK-based news, but it seems that Strumpette has put more effort into his/her site?

Not that that means anything for the long term, but the design and promotion efforts seem to indicate that the author thinks this has legs. Didn't Spin Bunny crash and burn quickly?

Gravatar John, I thought that photo on your blog WAS a beefcake post.

Gravatar To be honest John, I'm not sure how long the bunny was in the blogosphere? As it was leaving I was entering so I only caught the tail (no pun intended) end of it.

From what I remember it rattled a few warrens with its posts though. The reason why it did burn is because an un-named PR agency put a gagging order on it. However, it did make a brief return only to be shut down again.

I'm not too sure what you mean about the design of the bunny's blog? It was a TypePad based platform but it was more about the content - very funny and witty. Whereas this new blog just seems to be nasty IMHO.

I don't for one minute believe it's the girl on the blog's header writing it. But then again, I didn't think a real rabbit was writing Spin Bunny.

It will be interesting to see how it continues.

Gravatar Russell:

I meant a beefcake photo of someone else "pretending" to be me. That is about as beefcake as I get (too much beef and too much cake).

Gravatar Stephen:

I agree that we will all just have to see how this plays out. There is already rampant backchannel speculation about the Strumpette's true identity, and few folks think she is actually a she.

Gravatar Who knows, some have also tracked her down to an IP in Chicago, but unamed person, who has posted under that IP says it isn't he. He claims rotating IP addresses? Isn't it true that rotating IPs are usually only used in a dial-up and not high-speed?

Gravatar Between google, whois and the IP 24-136-10-126.hnc-bsr1.chi-hnc.il.cable.rcn.com left when she commented on Robert French's blog and you will find a trail that leads to Furthermore. Furthermore will lead you to the literati group, and it is there you will find a woman who is an award winning PR professional.

If it's not her, someone in her company's done a good job setting her up.
