It does seem that there has to be some convergence here eventually, but right now they are the two lines that never cross paths...

I'm old enough to remember watching 'Soccer Made in Germany' on PBS in the 70s when it was nothing but European Immigrants watching (and we were the single house in Arlington, TX tuned in)...then Telemundo made it on the end of the cable box and the World Cup was broadcast in Spanish....

And I watched Argentina beat Belgium in the 86 World Cup....with the kid who was roofing the house across the street with his dad.

I knew something was happening of what you are writing then...but I couldn't put it into words then. But I was watching soccer with an illegal...America was really changing in 86, but I was more interested in dribbling like Maradona at the time....
