I had the albums, the t-shirts, a folder in 3rd grade, the pencil holder, a bookmark I made from Teen Beat magazine. I am horrified that he did this, yet I BELIEVE he did it. I hope he is punished as a regular citizen and not some CELEB with a slap on the wrist after he pays fines (i.e. Vince Neil, in his own words "I killed someone and I paid a lot of money to get off.") He should just admit it, get help and move on.

Simply because nothing beats trash when it comes to selling papers and boosting ratings in today’s morally depraved society. How sad.
The media is full of vultures that would willingly cannibalize their own young for an opportunity to sell a titillating story. Are you going to give credibility to these vultures by believing what they say? Or are you going to believe Michael, one of the greatest creative geniuses of all time, who also happens to be a wonderful man and a true humanitarian who has spent his entire life blessing the world with his talent, love, and kindness? The media preys on our society’s hunger for scandals and malicious gossip. Are you going to give credibility to these scandalmongers by believing what they say? In 1993, Michael Jackson was arguably one of the most successful pop stars on the planet. His latest album "Dangerous" had debuted at #1 all over the world and he was about to embark on a highly anticipated tour. The usually reclusive superstar was also beginning to open up to the public. That year he did a revealing interview with Oprah where he talked about his tumultuous childhood and how it had affected him as an adult.
"People wonder why I always have children around, because I find the thing that I never had through them- you know, Disneyland, amusement parks, arcade games," he told Oprah. "I adore all that stuff because when I was little it was always work, work, work from one concert to the next." His explanation seemed innocent enough; he didn't have a childhood so he was trying to compensate for that by befriending children.
Unfortunately, given the hysteria surrounding child sexual abuse at the time, it was easy for people to have a more sinister take on Michael's open love for children. Add to that the fact that Michael was an enormously rich and powerful pop star with a reputation for being eccentric and he was practically a sitting duck for someone to make such allegations against him.
Enter the Chandlers, a family Michael met when his car broke down on Ventura Boulevard in 1992. June Chandler-Schwartz, the mother of the boy who eventually made accusations, gave Michael her son's phone number. Michael phoned the boy and became friends with the family which included the mother, her son Jordan, her husband Dave Schwartz and her ex-husband Evan Chandler. Michael was particuarly close with Jordan and June, taking them on trips around the world and buying them expensive gifts.
At this point, the relationship between June Schwartz and Evan Chandler began to deteriorate. The two were involved in a bitter custody battle and he was reportedly jealous of all the time Michael was spending with his son and his ex-wife. He urged Michael to spend more time at his house. During a five day visit at Evan Chandler's in June 1993, Michael shared a bedroom with Jordan and his half brother. It was during this time that Evan Chandler supposedly suspected something inappropriate was going on. One has to wonder why he allowed Michael to stay in the same room with his son if he was apparently so concerned about it.
At Jordan's graduation that month, Evan confronted June about his suspicions. According to her former attorney Michael Freeman, she didn't believe a word of it and still planned to take Jordan on Michael's "Dangerous" world tour. Chandler then threatened to take the story to the press if she did.
The next month, Dave Schwartz secretly taped a phone conversation he had with Evan Chandler. Here are some excerpts from their conversation:
CHANDLER: I had good communication with Michael. We were frien
I like him and I respect him and everything else for what he is. There was no reason why he had to stop calling me. I sat in the room one day and talked to Michael and told him exactly what I want out of this whole relationship. I've been rehearsed about what to say and not to say.
SCHWARTZ: What has Jackson done to make you so upset?
CHANDLER: He broke up the family. The boy has been seduced by this guy's power and money... I am prepared to move against Michael Jackson. It's already set. There are other people involved that are waiting for my phone call that are in certain positions. I've paid them to do it. Everything's going according to a certain plan that isn't just mine. Once I make that phone call, this guy is going to destroy everybody in sight in any devious, nasty, cruel way that he can do it. And I've given him full authority to do that.
And if I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I've checked that inside out. I will get everything I want, and they will be destroyed forever. June will lose [custody of the son] and Michael's career will be over.
SCHWARTZ: Does that help the boy?
CHANDLER: That's irrelevant to me. It's going to be bigger than all of us put together. The whole thing is going to crash down on everybody and destroy everybody in sight. It will be a massacre if I don't get what I want.
Michael hired lawyer Bert Fields and private investigator Anthony Pellicano to intervene. June and Dave played the tape for Pellicano who concluded that Chandler was trying to extort money from Michael. Pellicano interviewed Jordan Chandler and asked him whether anything inappropriate had ever happened between him and Michael. Jordan repeatedly denied any wrong doing on Michael's part.
Meanwhile, Evan Chandler began to act out his plan. In mid-July, he asked his ex-wife to let their son visit him for one week. When the visitation period was over, Chandler refused to return the boy to his mother and isolated him from his family and friends. Evan then hired attorney Barry Rothman who had previously handled divorce proceedings that involved sexual molestation allegations. He found out from Rothman how to report child abuse without liability to the parent. Taking Rothman's advice, Evan wrote a letter to psychiatrist Dr. Mathis Abrams where he cited a hypothetical situation. Abrams wrote back saying that under the given circumstances (Michael sharing a room with Jordan), there was reason to believe that sexual abuse might have occurred.
Evan took this report and tried to blackmail Michael with it. After making a demand for $20 million in return for his silence, Evan Chandler was eventually turned away by the Jackson camp. Soon after, the boy's allegations began to take shape but not until he was given a drug called sodium amytal. Saying he was using it to pull a tooth, Evan Chandler administered the drug to his son in the presence of anesthesiologist Mark Torbiner. Under the i
influence of sodium amytal, people are said to be extremely impressionable; you can tell them something and it can easily become part of their memory. It was only after being given this drug that Jordan Chandler eventually made allegations against Michael.
On August 16th, June Schwartz's attorney filed an ex-parte motion on his client's behalf to get her son back. While in court, Chandler made no mention of sexual abuse allegations. If Chandler had told the judge about the supposed suspicions he'd had for the past three weeks, the judge would have immediately ordered for the boy to be taken away from his mother. But Chandler said nothing, presumably because his plan was to report the abuse using a third party and by filing the ex-parte motion, June Schwartz had thrown her ex-husband a curveball. The court ordered Evan Chandler to return Jordan to his mother but instead he took him to see Dr. Mathis Abrams.
While in therapy (and under the influence of sodium amytal), Jordan Chandler finally made the allegations against Michael Jackson. Abrams reported the abuse to the police and on August 22 the media caught wind of the story. To make matters work, somebody leaked a copy of Jordan's affidavit to "Hard Copy" host Diane Dimond. The graphic contents of the affidavit were broadcasted all over television causing irreparable damage to Michael's reputation.
While Michael was being tried and convicted in the media, the Santa Barbara Police Department, headed by District Attorney Tom Sneddon, weren't quite as successful in finding damaging evidence. They spent millions of dollars trying to find anything that would corroborate Jordan's story. They interviewed numerous children who had stayed at Neverland but all of them denied misconduct on Michael's part. The police even went as far as questioning disgruntled ex-employees who had appeared on trashy television shows like "Hard Copy" and told stories of what they supposedly saw. Under deposition, all of these supposed witnesses admitted they lied and were paid by "Hard Copy" to appear on the show.
June and Dave Schwartz, who had rejected the allegations from the beginning, began to change their tune when a civil suit came into the picture. They sided with Evan Chandler in late August; Larry Feldman, a prominent civil attorney, was brought in shortly after. In mid-September, Feldman filed a $30 million suit against Michael on behalf of the boy's family.
Although Michael had enough evidence to prove his innocence, there was one problem: the civil trial was scheduled to occur before the criminal trial. Michael's attorney Johnnie Cochrane filed a motion asking for the order of the trials to be reversed. Feldman argued that because his client was so young, he might "forget" certain details of what happened to him. The judge ruled in Feldman's favour feeling that the boy's fragile state was more important than Michael's right to not self-incriminate. In response, Cochrane f
filed another motion asking for Tom Sneddon to be blocked from obtaining evidence used in the civil trial. Again, he was denied his request.
If Michael had gone through with the civil trial, the prosecution would have known his entire defense strategy. This would have given them time between the two trials to counter Michael's defense and find loopholes around his extortion evidence. This was not his only reason for settling the civil case. Here are several other reasons that support Michael's decision to settle:
1) The civil trial could have lasted for 8-9 months. After going through that exhausting process, Michael would have to go through it all over again in the criminal trial. Why go through it twice?
2) The entire process would have been very expensive and given that civil trials are much harder to win, he might have ended up having to pay the Chandlers anyway.
3) Michael knew this child was being used and manipulated by his father and most likely did not blame him for what happened. Perhaps he did not want to put him through a long, drawn out trial either.
It is a common misconception that Michael somehow bought his way out of the criminal trial by settling but that is an illogical presumption at best. The settlement did not prevent the boy from testifying against Michael in the criminal trial; it was Jordan's own decision not to. This is the same boy who was more than willing to testify in the civil trial. One could argue that Michael bought his silence by keeping the civil trial out of court but one must wonder why Jordan was so willing to testify in a civil trial and not in a criminal trial. I can understand the family wanting money but they could have gotten justice too. Jordan could have testified against Michael and charges would have been brought. The Chandlers, however, refused to cooperate with authorities; it seems that once they got their money, justice became irrelevant to them.
Without a cooperative victim, Tom Sneddon's case completely collapsed. The case was brought in front of two grand juries but no charges were brought. This clearly angered Sneddon as he soon changed the law directly because of the Michael Jackson case. According to him, the law was changed so that victims of child abuse would be forced to testify.
In addition to this, Tom Sneddon spent the next ten years or so giving interviews about Michael Jackson. He constantly referred to the case as "open but inactive" and implied that there was evidence to corroborate Jordan Chandler's story. He failed to provide an explanation as to why charges were never brought if such evidence really existed.
Meanwhile, Evan Chandler reared his ugly head again in 1996 when he tried to sue Michael for violating the terms of their civil settlement. Michael did this by saying he was innocent on television and on his 1995 album HIStory. Chandler cited the song This Time Around in his lawsuit because of the lyrics "Somebody's out to use me/ They re
They really want to use me/ And then falsely accuse me." Chandler also asked the court if he could release his own album called EVANStory where he would basically write songs about his son being molested. The case was thrown out of court.
Evan Chandler was not the only person offended by the content of HIStory. In a track called D.S, Michael sang about Tom Sneddon claiming "He out to shock in every single way/ He'll stop at nothing just to get his political fame/ He think he hot cause he BS DA/ I bet he never had a social life anyway." Although Tom Sneddon never sued (the lyrics read "Dom Sheldon is a cold man") he responded to the song in several interviews; he later denied ever listening it.
In what seemed to be a never ending nightmare, Michael spent the next few years fending off lawsuits from greedy opportunists. In 1998, however, Michael finally filed a lawsuit of his own. Victor Guttierez, a freelance journalist, claimed that he had seen a videotape of Michael Jackson having sex with a young boy. He appeared on "Hard Copy" and was interviewed by Diane Dimond who repeated his comments on an LA TV show. In court, Guttierez could not prove that the tape existed or that he'd even seen it. He was forced to pay Michael $2.7 million in damages. Diane Dimond and "Hard Copy" were named in the suit but they were exempt because of journalistic integrity.
This was not the first time Diane Dimond had gone out of her way to depict Michael Jackson as a pedophile. I already mentioned the several people who were paid to appear on "Hard Copy" and make up stories about what they knew; in addition to that, she also tried to get a street kid in Toronto to make allegations against Michael in 1995. She claims the kid approached her and not the other way around but why on earth would some random kid go to Diane Dimond of all people and make allegations against Michael Jackson? The boy soon admitted that he made the whole thing up but Diane was forced to report the story. She tried to make herself seem like a victim of his lies but it is obvious that she is the one who sought him out.
Although Michael was never charged with anything, it seems there were two people in particular who were intent on enhancing their own careers by exploiting the 1993 allegations. Both Tom Sneddon and Diane Dimond spent years defaming Michael's character and they've both admittedly remained in contact over the past decade. Fast forward to 2003. On February 6th, an infamous documentary called "Living With Michael Jackson" aired in the US. A young boy (whose name will not be revealed) appeared on the documentary with Michael and the two talked about one night where they slept in the same bedroom. These comments created a huge amount of controversy in the media.
After the documentary aired, Sneddon was bombarded with media inquiries about the Michael Jackson case. In a press statement, Sneddon said, "After conversations with Sheriff Jim Anderson, it w
was agreed that the BBC broadcast would be taped by the Sheriff's Department. It is anticipated that it will be reviewed."
Regarding Jackson's comments that he shared a room with children, Sneddon replied by saying it was, "unusual at best. For this reason, all local departments having responsibility in this are taking the matter seriously" but "Mental leaps of misbehavior are not acceptable as legal substitutes for credible, cooperative victims or percipient witnesses." Then he urged any victims to come forward.
Shortly after this press statement was released, somebody from the District Attorney's office leaked Jordan Chandler's affidavit on the Internet. A week later, on February 13th, Tom Sneddon met up with his old friend Diane Dimond and did an interview with her regarding the documentary. Again, Sneddon said that if a new child came forward he would reopen the case. It was during this time that Michael supposedly began abusing the boy (the charging documents use the timeline February 7-March 10). Michael knew this boy for two years and only started abusing him in the midst of all the controversy surrounding the 1993 allegations?
These new allegations are merely an extension of the 1993 case. Tom Sneddon was angry because he couldn't prosecute that case and as a result, he spent ten years of his life waiting for another "victim" to come forward. The perfect opportunity presented itself to him when that documentary aired. If you don't believe me just look at the players involved; it's the same district attorney, the same civil lawyer (Larry Feldman) and the same therapist (Dr. Mathis Abrams). Sneddon has a history of malicious prosecuting (read about it here) so this is within the boundaries of his character.
The only problem for Sneddon is, this new case has numerous holes in it from the suspicious timeline to the family's documented history of being lawsuit-happy liars. Sneddon wanted these allegations to be the nail in Michael's coffin; I believe this case will be just the opposite. Michael's innocence will be proven and the horrible label that has been tarnishing his name for the past decade will finally be removed.

Michael Jackson did some very idiotic things. First of all why did he get all of those plastic surgeries??? He was perfect the way he was.
