Gravatar This is weird--this is the second tinnitus related topic I've encountered this week. Researchers have been trying to figure out if the tonotopic map is altered after tinnitus develops (sort of analogous to the phantom limb syndrome situation). It was suggested at a recent seminar that tinnitus sufferers who respond well to the antidepressant treatment (some antidepressants also work in a subset of individuals having tinnitus) should be imaged both on and off of the drug to control for the effect that the constant ringing may have on the scan. Anyhow, that's somewhat related to what you just posted about. Boy, am I rambling today.

Gravatar I recently (today October 26 actually) started a blog on tinnitus. This news regarding the drug is positive. I myself have gone through TRT with some success. But since I have had tinnitus for 15 years, it may never be cured. Anyway, this is good news!
