Gravatar I fully agree with targeting the message to the audience. Too often we forget that the audience may be a small group, focused on one subject, and concentrated in one forum, such as a blog.

Your message will only become accepted and become part of the lexis if people consume it, believe it and then share it. Sometimes that requires reaching, even if it's only one person, the group who is most ready to hear and believe your message.

While it might be nice to hit the New York Times, usually your going to miss your mark when you pitch to the grand lady.

Aim lower and you'll hit your target.
