Communication Overtones Comments

Gravatar Kami, there is a more sinister piece to this whole affair.

As was reported last week, the PR firm cut Audry Lewis the first chech the day Scrushy hired them. This wasn't just a rookie lapse of PR ethics.

It's hard to imagine that Scrushy himself did not know what he was paying for when he hired the Lewis Group (no relation to Audry.) That is too quick a turn-around for the money.

PRSA is right to step out, as this is a blatant action, and a far too convenient weapon for the opponents of PR to use against us all.

Gravatar Isn't the Lewis group Audrey's company, Audret Lewis? Maybe not, but I was under that impression.

Gravatar No, it's not her firm.

The Lewis Group is owned by Jesse L. Lewis, who ironically enough, founded the newspaper.

She is not related to him or the firm. She merely wrote for the paper.

Still rather ugly and sticky, but of a different kind...

Gravatar Very ugly and very sticky. PRSA needs to do more of this, and more forcefully and consistently.

Gravatar Ike: Thanks for the claification

Scott/Ike: How icky, this is really is disheartning.

I agree more needs to be done about this and more often.

Gravatar It is a disservice to vulnerable older Americans who believe everything they're told on radio because a "trusted" celebrity endorsed a product. Are you telling me that they don't have to mention that they were paid for the endorsements? That needs to be changed quickly. Heater season is here and there are plenty of unscrupulous marketeers.

Gravatar M Saylor; No, this was completely unethical. Unfortunatly there are many bottom feeders in the world.

Gravatar How can we make this legislated?
